Danyela (D for short) grew up in Red Lodge Montana in her family’s restaurant and is a graduate of Billings Senior High School. After spending time attending the University of Montana with an interest in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Psychology, she ultimately earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Montana State University-Billings in 2018 and became a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in 2022. Immediately after graduate school, Danyela accepted her first role as an educator at her alma mater, Rocky Mountain College, where she shared her passion for lifelong learning with OT students from early 2023 to the summer of 2025.
Danyela is an advocate for the profession and active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the Montana State OT Association, and participates in several communities of practice to further her knowledge of the profession. Furthermore, she serves a volunteer role for AOTA as the Representative to the Assembly (2024-2027) for the state of Montana, is certified as a Pediatric Aquaticist through Aquatic Therapy University, and holds various certifications in complementary and alternative methods.
Her clinical experiences include serving children and families in outpatient and community settings. She looks forward to serving all populations, ages, and needs, placing an emphasis on holistic, family-centered care.
In her free time Danyela enjoys spending time with her family, preferably in or around water, a testament to her identity as an aquatic OT. On a temperate summer day, she, her partner and two children can be found fishing and floating Montana waters with their Bernedoodle, Chaco.
